Aikaterini Nicolaki

I hold a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Athens (1986) and an M. Ed. in TEFL with the Hellenic Open University of Patras (2004). I have worked as an EFL teacher in private language schools (1985-1993), as a substitute teacher in State Secondary Education (1993-1994) and as a permanent teacher of English in State Primary Education (1994-2003 & 2010- today).  I was seconded to the department of English Language and Linguistics from 2003-2010 where I ran tutorials for the following courses:  Academic Discourse (1st semester), Genres in English (4th semester), The Listening and Speaking Component of English Phonetics and Oral production (3rd semester) and ELT Methods & Practices: Lesson Planning Workshop (6th semester). I have developed materials for the teaching of the above-mentioned courses and the self-access centre of the faculty. I am also an author of two course books for junior high school students (e.g., Think Teen for the First Grade of Junior High School – Beginners & More Advanced Students).  My interests are in computer-assisted language learning & teacher training.
