Alexia Giannakopoulou

She holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Athens, an M.Ed. in TEFL from the Hellenic Open University and a Ph.D from the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences of the University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany). Her Ph.D thesis is on writing, revision and the role of focused feedback. She has worked as a teacher of English in both the private and public sectors at all levels, and since 1998 she has been working in state primary education. She is co-author of the EFL course book for the 2nd Grade of junior high school (advanced level) and other EFL titles. She has also been involved in student mentoring and in-service teacher training programmes and has been appointed as an oral examiner and assessor for the KPG certificate of English. Since 2010 she has been engaged in the design and development of teaching materials for the 1st and 2nd grades of Primary School.  She has taught at the Department of English Language and Literature of the University of Koblenz-Landau and the University of Athens and in 2011 she joined the teaching staff of the Hellenic Open University.
